Agent Tool

A personal assistant that runs on its owner's own computer.

Agent Tool is a single-user assistant built and operated by Roman Parker. It runs on his own computer and connects to his own Google account, so he can ask it about his mail and calendar and have it draft emails and documents — by text message, by voice at his desk, or on a phone call. A small relay server he runs carries his messages while the computer is asleep; it holds no Google credentials.

It is not a product, not a service, and is not offered to anyone else. There is no sign-up and no other user. It is published here only because Google requires an application using OAuth to have a public home page and privacy policy.

What it does

• Answers questions by text message, by voice at his desk (recognised and spoken on his own computer), and on phone calls.
• Searches the web and reads pages to answer questions it cannot answer from memory.
• Reads mail, reads and edits the calendar, keeps his task list, and creates documents — all within its owner's own Google account.
• Drafts email, and sends it only after he has said yes to that specific message.
• Sends him a morning and evening briefing, reminders he asked for, and a note when something in his mail or calendar needs him.
• Remembers facts its owner tells it, stored as files on his own computer.

Who can use it

One person: its owner. The application is not distributed, and no other Google account can be connected to it.
